ప్రెస్క్లబ్లో తస్లీమా నస్రీన్పై జరిగిన దాడిని ప్రజాస్వామ్య వాదులందరూ ఖండించారు. నిజంగా అది హైదరాబాద్ నగర సంస్కృతికి, సాహిత్య వాతావరణానికి మచ్చ తెచ్చే సంఘటన. ఆ సంఘటనను ఖండించి ప్రజాస్వామిక విలువలకోసం నిలబడిన వారందరినీ అభినందించాలి. గురువారం జరిగిన పుస్తకావిష్కరణ సభకు తస్లీమా నస్రీన్ వస్తున్నారన్న విషయం ఆవిడొచ్చేవరకూ అక్కడున్న ఎవరికీ తెలియదు.
నేనామెను చూసి ఆశ్చర్యపోయాను. ఆమె వస్తున్నారని తెలిస్తే మరికొంతమంది రచయిత్రులను పిలిచే పనిగదా అంటే ఈ విషయం బైటికి పొక్కితే గొడవలవుతాయని రహస్యంగా ఉంచాం అన్నారు నిర్వాహకులు. కానీ ఆ విషయం బైటికి పొక్కనే పొక్కింది. జరగవలసింది జరిగిపోయింది. ఒక చిన్నగదిలో ఏ రక్షణాలేని ఆమెమీదకు గుంపు వచ్చి పడింది. అది ప్రెస్క్లబ్ కాబట్టి, జర్నలిస్టు సంఘంలోని ప్రముఖులు కార్యవర్గ సమావేశం కోసం అక్కడున్నారు గాబట్టి తస్లీమా నస్రీన్ హైదరాబాద్ నుంచి సురక్షితంగా వెళ్లగలిగారు.
జర్నలిస్టులు ఫోన్ చేయటంవల్ల పోలీసులు అరగంటకైనా వచ్చి చర్య తీసుకోగలిగారు. అదే ఆ సభ మరొక చోట జరిగివుం టే ఏమయ్యేదనే ఊహే భయం కలిగించేలా ఉంది. రచయితల మీదా, కళాకారుల మీదా జరిగే సెన్సార్షిప్ గురించి, ముఖ్యంగా రచయిత్రుల మీద ప్రత్యేకమైన పద్ధతిలో జరిగే సెన్సార్షిప్ గురించి రచయిత్రులతో గత పదేళ్ళుగా మాట్లాడుతూనే ఉన్నాం. ఫిబ్రవ రి నెలలో దక్షిణాసియా దేశాల రచయిత్రులం కొందరు ఢిల్లీలో సమావేశమై ఈ విషయంగురించి మూడురోజుల పాటు చర్చించాం. తస్లీమా నస్రీన్ కూడా ఆ సమావేశంలో పాల్గొన్నారు. ఈ విషయంగురించి మరింత ఎక్కువ మాట్లాడాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని ప్రెస్క్లబ్ సంఘటన నిరూపించింది.
నగరంలోని రచయిత్రులకు, రచయితలకు కళాకారులకు అది భయంకరమైన ప్రత్యక్షానుభవం అయింది. మత ఛాందసవాదం పెరగడంతో దేశంలో ఒక కొత్త రకమైన సెన్సార్షిప్ బయల్దేరింది. అది స్ట్రీట్ సెన్సార్షిప్. రచయితల భావాలకు వ్యతిరేకంగా గుంపులను కూడగట్టి రచయితల మీదకు ఉసిగొల్పి వారిమీద ప్రత్యక్షంగా, భౌతికంగా దాడి చేయడం, వారిని తమ సృజనాత్మకతనుంచి వెనక్కు నెట్టాలనీ, వెళ్లగొట్టాలనీ చూడటం. ఇప్పుడిక ప్రభుత్వాలకు పుస్తకాలను నిషేధించే పనిలేదు. రచయితల, కళాకారుల పని వీథిలోని గుంపులే చూసుకుంటున్నాయి. ‘ఫైర్’ సినిమా విడుదల సందర్భంగా, ‘వాటర్’ సినిమా ప్రారంభం కానివ్వకుండా, ఇటీవల గుజరాత్లోని సుప్రసిద్ధ రచయిత్రి సరూప్ధృవ్ మీద దాడిచేసి, వరోదరాలో ఆర్టిస్టు మీద దాడిచేసి- ఇట్లా రకరకాలుగా అనేక ప్రాంతాలలో ఈ వీథి సెన్సార్షిప్ అమలవుతూనే ఉంది.
అది తాజాగా హైదరాబాద్లో జరిగింది. తస్లీమా నస్రీన్ అభిప్రాయాలతో కొందరికి ఏకీభావం కుదరకపోవచ్చు. కానీ ఆమె తన అభిప్రాయాలు ప్రకటించినందుకు గాను ఆమెను చంపుతామంటూ ప్రజాప్రతినిధుల ప్రకటనలు చూస్తుంటే మన ప్రజాస్వామ్యం ఎక్కడికి దిగజారిపోతోంది అన్న ఆలోచన కలవరపెట్టింది. ఆందోళనకు గురి చేసింది. ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు ఒక రచయిత్రి మీద దాడి చేయటానికి రావటమే దారుణం. భారత రాజ్యాంగానికి కట్టుబడిఉంటామని ప్రమాణాలుచేసినవారే రాజ్యాంగంలో అతి ముఖ్యమైన భావప్రకటనా స్వేచ్ఛకున్న హక్కునూ, సభలు, సమావేశాలు జరుపుకునే హక్కుని కాలరాయటం చూస్తుంటే మనం బతుకుతున్నది ఏ సమాజంలోననే అనుమానం కలుగుతోంది.
ఇవాళ ఒక రచయిత్రి మీద దాడి జరిగింది. ఆ దృశ్యాలను ఎందరో చూశారు. అమలులో ఉన్న సంప్రదాయాలను, ఆచారాలను, మత విశ్వాసాలను ప్రశ్నిస్తూ రాసే రచయిత్రుల మనసుల్లో అదెలాంటి ముద్ర వేస్తుంది? రచయిత్రులు కాగితం మీద కలం పెట్టినప్పటినుంచీ అనేక రకాలైన నిషేధాలను ఎదుర్కొం టారు. కొందరి విషయంలోనైతే ఇంట్లో కుటుంబ సభ్యులందరి సెన్సారింగుని దాటుకునే రచన ప్రచరణకువెళ్తుంది. ప్రచురించాక దానిమీద వచ్చే విమర్శలకు ఇంట్లో కూడా సంజాయిషీలూ, సమాధానాలు ఇచ్చుకోవాలి రచయిత్రులు. అనేక కథల ఈ కుటుంబ నిషేధాలలోనే నిశ్శబ్దమైపోతున్నాయి. ఇలాంటి పరిస్థితులోల రచనలు చేసినందుకుగాను, తన అభిప్రాయాలను నిర్భయంగా ప్రకటించినందుకుగాను ఇలాంటి దాడులను ఎదుర్కోవాల్సి వస్తుందనేది రచయిత్రుల మీద కుటుంబ, సామాజిక సెన్సార్షిప్ని మరింత పెంచుతుంది.
ఈ దాడిని ఈ ప్రత్యేక కోణం నుంచి కూడా చూడాలి. రచయిత్రులు సంఘటితం కావాలి. తోటి రచయితల ప్రజాస్వామిక వాదు ల మద్దతు కూడగట్టాలి. సాహిత్య విమర్శను, భిన్న భావాల గురించిన చర్చను ప్రోత్సహించి సమాజాన్ని చైతన్యవంతం చేయాల్సిన బాధ్యత రచయితల మీద ఉంది. జరిగిన దానిని గురించి బాధ్యతగా ఆలోచించి సంయమనంతోనే ఈ హింసను ఎదుర్కోవాలి. మత ఛాందసవాదం ‘సంస్కృతి’ పేరుతో ప్రజాస్వామ్య సంస్కతిని బతకనివ్వదనే విషయం అర్థం చేసుకుని వ్యవహరించాలి. మత ఛాందసవాదం తెచ్చిపెట్టే ప్రమాదాలను సామాన్య ప్రజలకు విప్పి చెప్పే ప్రయత్నాన్ని రచయితలు మరింత బాధ్యతగా చేపట్టాలి.

ఈ సంఘటన మీద ముస్లిం చాందసవాదాన్ని వ్యతిరేకించే ముస్లిమ్ రచయితలు ఉద్యమించాలి.పెద్దయెత్తున నిరసన వ్యక్తంచేయాలి.
I had seen the discussion regarding participated by madam Olga in Gemini t. v. Never religion is personal and so called spiritual. It is political, power centred. No religion is benevolent or tolerant to other religions.It is the same case with all religions, hindu,christian, sikh, islam,,juda and what not. History has shown that in the name of religion, the protagonists have spilled the blood of many belonging to other religions and those who questioned their hegemony.
Only because the people start believing in democratic principles and socialism, the advocates of those religions [rather forced] start boasting of their religions’ tolerence and social values and maintain they stand for peace. But this game is to strengthen their religions only.
The politics,which intertwine with religious sentiments in a democratic setup play a deplorable and degenerative role against the health of a wonderful sane society.
Such trends should be condemned outright.
The terming of dharma [way of life] to religion is more dangerous and warrants religion not to be personal. Nowadays, which religion will not claim it is way of life?
Hyderabad has experienced many such religious hooliganism againt art. When ‘tamas’, a magnum opus and well balanced impersonal story of human trauma during the period of partition by Bhisham Sahani and exquisitely picturised by Govind Nihlani, is being telecast in doordarshan, the activists from BJP and its youth and student organisations barged into DD somajiguda and ransacked valuble heritage tapes of DD. Will it not be fun seeing the same people voicing against the same type of drama enacted by the activists of other religion and posing as democrats?
In condemning these unruly fanatics, the democrats neednot show decorum in argument. Anyhow our governments, in dealing with them, forget constitution and law comfortably.
Here, in the case of Taslima Nusrin, in appreciation or depreciation, the notority of both religions are to be taken into. Lujja, after all, hapens in the wake of the demolition of Babri Masjid.
And if anyone says that Muslim writers should condemn this, instead of asking all to do that, it is because the particular religion is tarnished as undemocratic by the culture promoted by majority religion after independence and global threat aganst countries possessing oil.

Again on Tasima Nasreen’s traumatic experience in the press club of Hyderabad. When I have seen Taslimaji’s interview in Hindu, I personally felt she might have been a bit superfluous in admitting that she has encountered death so close.
Yesterday, in my trip to Hyderabad, I met my friend Mr.C.Narasimha Rao, his wife Jyothiji and his son Harsha, who are all present when the rascals barged into the meeting and attacked Taslimaji. In fact Jyothiji is all through the period is standing guard by the side of shaken Taslimaji and is assuring her safety.
They told me the main purpose of the intruders is to kill her as one person among them is a notorious killer, who is even recognised by a police officer. As there is human shield against their target, their mission has failed. One photographer standing in between has to shed his blood.Taslimaji is saved because the place is press club.
Whatever may be the assurance of the C.M.,we know by history of our land, nothing happens aganst the lawbreakers, who in public owed to kill the writer. What has happened to Bal Thakre, who made such frenzy threats against minority community and ideotic utterances against our constitution?
She is bold lady. She, in no terms of compromise, even criticized Shabana azmi regarding burqa.She says ‘even if Quran prescribes purdah, that does not mean women should obey that’. It is laudable when Taslima Nasreenji says ” TO STOP SAYING TRUTH AND NOT TO WRITE IS A FORM OF SUICIDE ” It is high time for the Indian democrats to pressurise our government to let her live hurdlefree life of secular activities and writings in Bengal India.
I like to conclude with the lines of her poem ‘come what may, I will continue my fight for equality and justice without any compromise until my death. comewhat may I will never be silenced’
ఈ సంఘటనలో ముఖ్యంగా గమనించవలసిన విశయాలు మూడు
1. తస్లీమా ఒక రచయిత్రి. ఒక రచయిత భావ ప్రకటనా స్వేచ్చ మీద దాడిని ఖండించడం. ఆమెరచనలు నిజంగా నచ్చని వారు ఆమెకు సమధానం రాయడం ద్వారా, లేదా విమర్ష రాయడం ద్వారా ఖండించాలితప్ప దాడి చేయడం మానవ చర్య అనిపించుకోదు.
2. ఈ సంఘటనను చైతన్యవంతులైన ముస్లిములు, హిందువులు ఖండిచిన తీరు భావప్రకటన స్వేచ్చకు, ప్రజాస్వామ్యవిలువలకు సంబంధించిన ఖండన. కానీ ఈ సంఘటనను ప్రజాస్వామ్య వాదులు ఖడించడానికి, మతతత్వ సంఘ పరివార షక్తులు ఖండించడానికి తేడా వుంది. సంఘ పరివార శక్తులు దీన్ని మొత్తం ముస్లిం సమాజాన్కి వ్యతిరేకంగా ప్రచారం చేయడానికి వాడుతున్నతీరు ఖండింఛాలి.
3. ఈ మొత్తం సంఘటనలో అనుమానించాల్సింది ఇన్నయ్యను. ఎవరికీ తెలియకుండా (వేదిక పై వారితో సహా)రహస్యంగా తస్లీమాను హైదరాబాదుకు రప్పించిన ఇన్నయ్య కాక ఇంకెవరు పాత బస్తీ నాయకులకు సమాచారం అందించి వుంటారు? తస్లీమా మీద ఫత్వా వుందని తెలిసి, హైదరాబాదు ముస్లిం ప్రధాన నగరమని తెల్సి ఎందుకు పోలీసులకు సమాచారం ఇవ్వలేదు?
ఇక్కడ తెలుగులో ముస్లింవాదం బలంగా వుంది ..కానీ ఎవ్వరికీ కనీస సమాచరం ఇవ్వలేదు ఎందుకు? దీనిలో ఇన్నయ్య ఆషించిన ప్రయోజనం ఏమిటి?
One thing to be taken into consideration here is that no political party including the left parties like CPM and CPI has taken up the responsibility of safeguarding Taslimaji, her books or opinions.And we are all aware of with what notorious designs BJP or the like support her. Of course, she has bluntly refused rightwing terrorism in any form either Hinduvian or Islamic.
Here Innaiah, a radical humanist, is not having a political or considerable social support. To bring out some translations of Taslimaji he might have organised a small gathering in the Press Club. For this humble act of his, we should not attach motives, and we should not get confused, Mr.Khaja. Do you think the police will allow a meeting like this? Will not they say it is a law and order problem?
How long the artists of reasoning, human values and creativity , without organised support solely should fight this battle against fanatics in society or in courts like our MFHussain?

ఇన్నయ్య గారికి మొత్తంగా సోషల్ సపోర్ట్ వుందా లేదా అనేద పక్కనబెడితే, సిపియం తస్లీమాకు పూర్తివ్యతిరేకి కాదు. బెంగాల్ లో ఆమెకు తమ మద్దతును ఇచ్చిన పార్టీ. ఇన్నయ్య గారు ఈ విషయంలో సిపియం సపోర్టు కోరి వుండవచ్చూ. లేదా వివిధ ప్రజాసంఘాల మద్దతు కోరి వుండవచ్చు. తస్లీమా అనామకురాలు కాదు. ఆమె రచనలతో, అభిప్రాయాలతో విభేదించినా ఒక స్త్రీ గా, రచయిత్రిగా ఆమెకి మద్దతిచ్చేవారు ఇక్కడ వున్నారన్న విశయం మర్చిపోరాదు.
పోలీసులు స్వంత అభిప్రాయంతో వుండరు. ప్రభుత్వ అభిప్రాయమే వారి అభిప్రాయం. పోనీ ప్రభుత్వం సహాయాన్నీ ఇన్నయ్య కోరలేదు…?
ఇన్నయ్యగారే పాత బస్తీ వాళ్ళకు సమాచారం ఇచ్చివుంటారేమో అని అనుమానిస్తే మనసంస్కారాన్ని మనమే అనుమానించాల్సివస్తుంది. బయటికితెలువకుండా తస్లిమాను రప్పిస్తే , ఆమెవచ్చిపాల్గొని వెళ్ళి పోయిన తరువత తెలిసినా ప్రమాదం ఉండదు/నష్టమూ ఉండదు అని ఇన్నయ్య గారుభావించి ఉంటారని నేనుఅనుకుంటున్నాను.
